you buy something at reg. price or less and then turn around and sell it for way more than a fair price in no time (but people will still buy it because that's the only price you can get it at).

Yeah, but if you only buy one to resell/scalp it's not as bad as when people buy everything in sight just to resell it. That sucks.

depends on what it is... sometimes a concert doesn't happen for a couple of months.  Then you sell it when its about to happen.

If your talking about toys, there's a point where you keep it for so long that it becomes an investment.  But we're probably talking about years here.

so if a toy becomes an investment it isnt scalping?

you're putting things in black and white... if you really think about it, scalping IS an investment.  Anything you put money into that may give you a larger return is an investment.  Scalping is more or less just a way to make a quick buck in expense of other not being able to get a product at a fair price.  But with any investments you're taking a chance that these things will be in great demand or not.  Some scalpers end up selling their investments for less if the product ends up to be readily available or not in great demand.
